Num 13:1-2, 1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2, “Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel…”
To the Only Wise God Our Savior who has led us into another Year. Here are a few truths with God’s help to assist us in this journey of 2022.
1st principle: Spy this New Year (SPY THE LAND), see God given opportunities to grow and progress. Spy the possibilities of growing deeper and stronger in the Lord in comparison to last year. God promised Israelites Canaan, a land flowing with milk and honey, in abundance of figs, dates, and nuts. But why with detailed information did they have to spy it? Perhaps to prove to them that God meant what He said. Moses sent 12 spies to “17 Go up … 18, and see what the land is like: whether the people who dwell it are strong or weak, few or many…”. While Moses asked them to check the condition of the land, he was already aware of the richness of the land without disclosing the obstacles. The 12 spies report would consist of Canaan’s richness and obstacles. Spying the land is not to discourage you from going forward but to prepare you of how to get there. The display of richness of the land was God’s will to now be their desire for it. The obstacles were an invitation to turn to Him in prayer to bring them there defeating their new enemies.
