Mat 6:25-26, 25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, …26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Christ did not forbid prudent forethought, He only cautioned about anxiety over life. And Jesus in order to encourage us uses example of birds in the air. Birds around snowing seasons fascinates me. How are their little feathers keeping them warm? Where are they nesting when it snows, and where are they getting their food when snow covers the ground? Then I picture how often I am more bundled than they and still feel cold, can’t be outside standing or walking for too long.
It is then I reminded, the Creator is taking care of them. And if we are more valuable, we should not be anxious, nervous, worried, concerned, restless, fretful, fearful, frightened for anything, God will take care of us. Php 4:6“…but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God…” God gave the life, and it is higher than food, He will see that it is sustained, if you trust in Him. He too made the body, He will see that it is clothed.
