He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

One With God Is A Majority

1Sa 14:6 Jonathan said to the young man who carried his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised. It may be that the LORD will WORK FOR US, for nothing can hinder the LORD from saving by many or by few.”

In the day when logics, math, analysis is expected to make sense before we can move does not settle well in God’s economy. While we are not called to a reckless faith, we should also not be too over cautious that we fail to do anything because we are paralyzed by fear.

Jonathan was convinced that God could win with majority or minority. He was in the minority group. In fighting the Lord’s battles, if we wait until we outnumber our adversaries we shall never do exploits. Joshua and Caleb were outnumbered and outvoted, yet they said, “Let us go up and possess it.” The fewer there are, the more room for Omnipotence. Jonathan’s expression did not imply doubt, he demonstrates to us that the outcome was not in his own hands but upon his dependence upon God. He expected success neither from his own strength nor his own merit. One plus God is majority, few in number but mighty in God’s greatness.
