He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Standing Alone

Jhn 9:21-23, 21 …He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself.” 22 His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue. 23 Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”

The parents deserve commendation for confirming their son’s blindness from birth and his miraculous healing. Although they had heard that Jesus had performed the miracle, they lacked the courage to publicly support their son in his confirmation of the one who did it. This was due to fear of judgment and adherence to traditions. While it was important to encourage him to speak for himself and give his testimony because he was of age, their true motive was self-preservation.

In moments like these, it is important to maintain unwavering faith, even when those close to you become afraid to identify with your testimony due to fear of men. Those who couldn’t stand with you must now witness the remarkable deeds, even if they are too afraid to acknowledge or speak of them. Psa 27:10-11, “10 When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the LORD will take care of me. 11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.”
