Num 12:9-10, 9 So the anger of the Lord was aroused against them, and He departed, 10. “…suddenly Miriam became leprous, as white as snow
I have often wondered why God while angry with both Aaron and Miriam only punished Miriam with leprosy. It is possible that she may have been the convincing voice or the oldest. Aaron was not the leader in mischief, she was. Her sin was pride masked with spiriutal talk (she said God has also spoken to us). The condition of her heart revealed in her speech convinced Aaron to side with her which was another sin.
The danger we all face is pride, it seeks an audience to stroke it. Let us be careful that we are not quick to speak and surround ourselves with people we may influence in our ways. Let us not lead people a stray simply because we want people who can side with our wrong spirit. “The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.” (Pro 8:13 ). “The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so quit before the quarrel breaks out.” (Pro 17:14).
