He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

From The Beginning

Acts 9:11 Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying.

The apostle Paul exemplified all the good qualities of the church in Ephesus as portrayed in Rev 2:1-3, including what the church lacked, love (in vs 4). He had the love for Christ that drove him to seek Him. In 2Cor 5:14 he writes, “For the love of Christ compels us…”. He constantly died to himself and submitted himself to Christ as the object of his faith. From the day of his conversion, prayers became part of his life. His preaching, performing miracles similar to that of Jesus was marked by prayers. Paul was a praying man which indicates he had light and heat simultaneously.

Acts 19:11 reads, “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, …”. This verse is qualified by 2Cor 4:7 “… we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us”. This would not be possible if Paul was not praying (1Th, 5:25, 2Th 3:1). In his writing, he often mentioned that he was praying for the receivers of his letters. In short, we see in his life God’s sovereignty and his human responsibility, that of prayer. We need to know “19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, ”(Eph 1:19-20). If we are going to expect God to work, He is going to expect us to do our part. God wills then waits.
