Heb 11:23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command
Moses’ parents Amram and Jochebed are mentioned in the hall of faith (Heb 11). By faith they perceived something unique in their son Moses when he was born. In order to keep him safe from Pharaoh, they entrusted him to the hands of the Lord to keep him in the midst of life threatening situations. This was not Moses’ faith but his parent’s faith that would influence him down the road.
The danger he faced is a picture of a threat the enemy senses when a child is born in a Christian family and the parents dedicate him/her to the Lord for His service. Parents ought to be diligent in raising their children by God given wisdom and strength, and at the same time and more importantly, entrust them in the hands of the Lord to keep them through the dangers of life that seeks to corrupt their minds and destroy their lives. The aid of prayers should take the center stage for their salvation, growth, path, character, future etc. The faith of the parents for their children ought to be the foundation and the gateway of their children’s personal faith in God.
