Psa 138:2 I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your loving kindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
The Lord ordained a place of sacrifice and a house of His indwelling. David accepted the type of worship revealed in the Lord’s Word. Even so, true-hearted believers must not fall into the worship of superstition, but worship reverently as the Lord Himself ascribes in His word. When Christ is exalted, the Word is the means to an end in which God is worshipped.
Truth must be the center for worship. Jesus preached nothing but truth to the Samaritan woman. He exposed her adulterous lifestyle and only in true repentance would she finally worship the Holy and Just God. Eze 36:23-27 “23 And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes”. Let us therefore adore the Lord who has spoken to us by His Word. In the presence of unbelievers, let us both praise His holy Name and extol His Holy Word. Let everything be done orderly for God is not the author of confusion.
