He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Building Your Own By Building For Others

Gen 40:8 And they said to him, “We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.” So Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God?

Joseph had dream (Gen 37). He had gone through a tough life not understanding it and even the possibility of realizing it, yet in serving others he invoked God’s faithfulness, “Do not interpretations belong to God?” His confidence was in God’s timing which became the ground to pray and bless others even if his was delayed or denied. As we read, all dreams for these 2 men and Pharaoh’s were realized as Joseph had interpreted.

The ambitious request of James and John led to this reply by Jesus “27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slav 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Mat 20:27-28). While Joseph faithfully built houses for others, he was also building his own. To serve others faithfully is to build bridges to be served. God first, others second, you third. In the church, the greatest one is he who serves most and best.
