Act 11:25-26, 25 Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
After completing his assignment of visiting and bringing back the report on the state of the churches in Antioch, Barnabas did not simply stop there. He took it upon himself to go above and beyond by firstly encouraging the brethren to persevere, as mentioned in the last devotional
Secondly, he actively sought out Saul (Paul), who was a new converted Christian but still feared by many due to his past persecution of Christians. Barnabas played a crucial role in bringing Saul to Antioch and introducing him to the church. There they served together, demonstrating to all that Saul had truly changed. While anyone can fulfill their assigned tasks, going the extra mile sets one apart and is a rare quality that truly makes a difference.
