Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose
This verse is made clear in the light of vs. 26 and 27 which addresses the work of the Holy Spirit in our praying as He also searches our hearts. Those who love God and are called according to His purpose, everything will work together for good. Take note here, it does not say it will work for “their” good but rather it will work “for” good, whose good is the question.
In my judgment this verse addresses more than things working for our good in the long run, but rather it works for good in us if it accomplishes His purpose regardless of the outcome in us. All works are to make God’s name great and advance His kingdom, and there in lies our joy something God is after. If we submit our understanding to the truth of God; submit our wills to the will of His precept, the will of His providence, He is ready for our good.
