Mark 5:21-43, 35 … “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”
Mark in 10 verses speaks of the woman with the issue of blood. This is an indication that this was not a quick stop. It was not long before a message came, Jairus’ daughter was dead and there was no need to further trouble the Teacher, as he was told. The people’s faith got stuck on a healer and not beyond that.
How we perceive things may be clouded by what we see. Jairus could have pondered on who to blame for his daughter’s death. He was sure of his daughter’s healing if Jesus arrived while she was still alive. Hope was present as long as the situation was still bearable. Here is something to ponder on, what we call over and finished may not be what God calls it. The people put a period where the Lord would put comma. They discouraged Jairus from further seeking help for his impossible situation. Anytime anything or anyone tells you not to trouble the Lord any further should be the time to trouble Him even more. We ought to pray, “Lord help me see what you see”. Psa 55:22 “Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
