John 4:23 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.
Jesus at a well (John 4) spoke to a Samaritan woman concerning true worship among other things. Until this time, most people believed that only in the temple could true worship take place. The geographical location or physical structure for worship are not the essence. The importance of worship is how not where. That is the point in vs. 21 Jesus made, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.”
Jesus reiterated that the primary focus for worship is attitude and the condition of the heart. Worship is Christ exalted above every word, thought and deed, in hearts, in life, and through us at all times. Psa 34:1-3 “1 I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth…3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!”
