Mark 14:3 As He sat at the table, a woman came to him having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard.
The four gospels in (Mat 26; Mark 14; Luke 7; John 12) give an account of events that occurred in one house. Here is a classic case involving a woman that came to Jesus with an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Matthew and John were present with Jesus as His disciples. Mark and Luke were not disciples. Many scholars and theologians believe Mark’s account were provided to him by Apostle Peter, Luke was a physician. The four documented the same story but differed in some details as you will see. Though they saw the same thing in reality or by narration, they did not report exactly the same way.
There is a purpose for the same record of the story with variations. Here is my reflection, everyone was impacted and touched differently. What captures your heart is what you are most likely to report. What you respond to the most is what you will work towards. In these series I will address each of their accounts and their relevance to us and our time. Thereafter we will arrive to the common denominator.
