Joh 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
The nature of the flesh is mostly associated with its weakness, Jesus at one point noted how the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. Paul also points out in the book of Romans of the law being weak through the flesh. This is the thought to keep in mind, as without the soul the flesh of a man is worthless, so without the quickening Spirit of God all forms of spirituality are dead and worthless.
God who made this provision for our souls alone can impart life and teach us the things of the Spirit by His Word and empower us to retain. We are drawn to Christ that we may live by faith in Him. It is not what brings us to Him but Who. Psa 65:4 “Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple!” Let us apply that which is of Christ to our lives and be thankful that every one He bids to come will come unto Him and live.
