Psa 27:8 When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, LORD, I will seek.”
The psalmist understands the nature of his relationship with God. He takes hold of the kind invitation God had given him and he responds inform of duty, and with delight. He is not seeking His hands of blessings but His face which means serving God for who He is. Majority of our prayers if you listen dwell on seeking His hands for blessings. This verse clearly points out that our primary duty is to seek the Lord Himself, and commune with Him through Christ because He deserves our attention and worship.,
Jas 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…” This is like a groom who longs for his bride to seek him and spend time with him, but he will not force her to. He will speak of his desires and if the bride responds, He will respond and go beyond. God in more ways than one longed Israel to draw near to Him, however Israel many times rebelled, distanced from God, but when they called, God always received them. The heart that has rebelled must be brought to the foot of God; the spirit that was distant and estranged from a life of communion and converse with God must become acquainted with Him because he is responding to the call of God.
