Psa 91:16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.
The Lord displayed in the first 15 verses who He is and will be to His people crowns it with vs 16 “With long life I will satisfy him…” The emphasis of this verse is the quality of life (effective) rather than the quantity (length of life). There are those who accomplish a lot in a short time and are quite content to leave it behind when their time comes.
The apostles had long life but not by man’s standards. Though they had few years on earth, they lived their lives to the fullest. Psa 91:1 makes this possible, meaning, he that by faith chooses God for his protection shall find ALL in Him that he needs or desire to live. The fruit of the Spirit gives the quality of life none of us possesses unless God grants us what we ask, Gal 5:22-23 “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; …” And those who have found this comfort, cannot but desire to display to the world the quality of life that springs from above.
