Exo 5: 1 … ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness”, Exo 10:3 “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.”
The Israelites living in bondage longed and cried to God for deliverance from the Egyptians. They wished to be freed from bondage, oppression, slavery etc. For 400 hundred years they hoped and waited for a deliverer. And when God finally sent Moses to deliver them, God had a bigger plans for them with Him as the center of His plan. His main drive was to free them that they may serve Him. This was more than get them to a nice place, meaning free from all troubles of life (land that flows with milk and honey). This would come with deliverance but not as the primary reason.
God’s glory is the end of our being, this is the key to answered prayers, the glory of God, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” (Psa 50:15). That is why He created us to bring Him glory in words, thoughts and deeds, 1Co 10:31 ”Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” ”For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.” (Rom 11:36).
