Matt 6:13 For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
Prayer begins with ascribing all the praises to God and ending with what it began with. This ending strengthens our faith in what He can and will do. This also gives us good grounds of encouragement to pray. It is for His glory that all worship is carried on, therefore He will hear our prayer, and do for us exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to His power that works within us (Eph 3:20). The entire prayer is punctuated with “Amen “, which means, let it be so. 2Cor 1:20 “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us“.
Take note of the Lord’s Prayer’s focus on “YOUR“, Your name, Your kingdom, Your will, then Give us “OUR”.
Jesus desired for His diciples to Pray with Him at least for 1hr, the Lord’s Prayer provides that format and guidance by the aid of the Holy Spirit to pray effectively the prayers God honors. Rom 8:26 “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, ...” You open your mouth in praise “Our Father, hallowed be Your name”, the Spirit will empower and guide through each point to pray effectively.
Rom 8:26 “…but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered“. Imagine a child wants to give his father the best flowers, so he picks them up the best he knows how but then the mother steps in to help the child pick and prep them well for presentation to the father. That is how the Holy Spirt helps us with prayer, He guides and also takes what we want present and presents it better to the Father. May the Lord give us a praying Spirit and teach us to pray.
