Luk 24:31-32, 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight. 32 They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?”
In the midst of their presence, the veil in which Jesus had enfolded Himself was withdrawn, and they recognized Him. It was the Lord Himself, the risen Jesus. He was revealed for their sake and immediately they had flashbacks. The first memory was that of their hearts burning within them while He talked and opened Scriptures to them concerning Himself, His sufferings, death, and resurrection, which are in Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.
The Scriptures are as a sealed book to learned and unlearned men, and no one is so fit to open them to us as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. His words came with such evidence, power, and sweetness, that they were ravished with them. Their minds radiated with beams and rays of divine light; their hearts were warmed and glowed within them. They became fervent in spirit, and their affections were raised and fired up. A 2 hr walk revolutionized their lives for good, and now can you picture a lifetime walk? Psa 34:5-8 ”5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed…8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.”
