Heb 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Faith is the holding position of expectation of the future fulfillment with a taste of the present reality. It is the assurance of the expected things to come. The promise to come is the reason we trust God with our present needs. While the future hope of things to come are ours to embrace, the Lord is concerned for our today needs too. Martha had future hope for Lazarus’ resurrection. Jesus was bringing her faith in raising him now (Joh 11).
David in facing Goliath hoped for now faith. He said “this day the Lord will deliver you into my hands…” (1Sam 17:46). All the world should be made to know that there is the only living true trustworthy God. He is not only the God who was (past) and shall be (future), He is also the God who is (present). 2Co 6:2 “For he says,“In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
Therefore “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful” (Heb 10:23). Have now faith, trust God with your needs and be in the expectation mode in light of future hope.
