Eph 1:15-16, 15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers
Majority of our prayers often linger on provisions, protection, and guidance over our lives and loved ones. Paul on the other hand amazes me by his prayer priorities. What you pray for the most reveals where you heart is. Paul’s style of praying was very effective. His life aligned with Mat 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…”. He outlines what the kingdom of God is and not,“17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit…” (Rom 14:17-18). Having established what the kingdom of God is, the heart of his prayers would linger around righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit as priority.
Paul desired to know Christ more than anything else. He prayed for this and for others along the same lines. This did not mean he did not care for provisions, protection, and guidance. It means that if his priority was right, all these other things would be added as needed (Mat 6:33).
