Gen 16:13 Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, “Have I also here seen Him who sees me? (NKJV)
Hagar In response to being visited by the Lord in the desert responded to by calling upon the name of the Lord. While calling she made this profound statement, “…You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees;…”. She never imagined that someone would see and care for a slave girl, but right there in her mess, in her fears, in her doubt, running away, He appeared to her and gave her assurance no one could give her.
The God who sees appeared. The God who sees promised. She could not believe that she had encountered and seen the One who sees her, she says, “…Have I also here seen Him who sees me?” God is never blind to your tears; never deaf to your prayers; and never silent to your pain. “…Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.” (Psa 4:1) . “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.“ (Psa 50:15). The name of the Lord is a strong tower.
