Exo 4:24-25, 24 At a lodging place on the way the LORD met him and sought to put him to death. 25 Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses’ feet with it and said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!
God called Moses to deliver Israel from Egypt. In response to this call, Moses with his family left for Egypt. Everything was working accordingly until a dramatic turn of events in vs 24-26 of this chapter. There was an abrupt change from promise of triumph over Pharaoh to instant plan to kill Moses His messenger. Very lately God was conversing with him as a friend, and now coming forth against him as an enemy.
Moses needlessly delayed or neglected his duty to keep God’s covenant of circumcising his son. That is what got him in trouble with God. It took his wife Zipporah to act fast to perform his neglected duty thus saving his life. Men, to be in ministry and violate or neglect family priorities, and for your wife to step up and perform your duty is to position yourself for disqualification of any other ministry. God prioritizes family ministry over all, Jos 24:15 “…as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord“.
