Heb 11:23-29, 24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, …
As Moses became of age, he moved from living under his parents’ faith to having personal faith in God himself. He had faith in God’s promises, and hence he forsook his honored position, wealth and pleasure, and embraced affliction with the enslaved nation. He chose the latter by faith for his sake and his people.
Every child at the age of understanding, accountability must have faith in God for themselves to be saved, and each parent must train them on how to trust Christ for their salvation. Paul writing to Timothy had this to remind him of his process of conversion, 2Tim 3:15, “..from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”. Teachings and knowing scripture were tools to train him on right and wrong, leading him from the life of the Egyptians to that of the Savior, from temporal to eternal. The faith of the parents may cover the children but it will not save them, only children’s faith in God.
