Dan 6:22 My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, …
I find it easy to pray “God change my situations for me to fit in”. In the last few years I have been praying that the Lord change me to fit in my hostile environment. The picture of Daniel’s experience in the lions den highlights this point, the lions were present with him the entire time. God could have killed the lions or better yet, prevented him from being thrown in there. God did something remarkable, He shut the mouths of the lions and rendered them powerless to harm him.
To pray God change me to fit in my surrounding is vital, and here is why, the weight of the testimony is in what you have endured over what you have escaped or achieved (deliverance vs sleeping through comfortably in the lions den). If you can be comfortable and sleep through the night in such situations, that is not even your peace or comfort, that is of God. 2Cor 1:3-4, “3 Praise be to the God …the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God” (NIV).
