1Chr 22:17-19, 17 David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, 18 “Is not the LORD your God with you? … 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God. …
David here engages the leaders of Israel to hold Solomon spiritually accountable. He brings to reminder how God dealt with them when they obeyed His commands. The charge here is to strive to walk in the ways of the Lord. The more God has done for us the more we should study to do for Him.
These great spiritual leaders were to guide Solomon in the spiritual charge by David. Children need biblically sound leadership. Parents must first know what they believe and why. Then set the foundation of faith and plug their children under pastors, leaders who will continue to provide sound teachings. The aim of the sound teachings is to keep the children’s eyes on the Lord at all times. 2Tim 3:14-15, “14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ.” Let but the heart be sincerely engaged for God, and the head and hand, the estate and interest, and all will be cheerfully employed for His service.
