The call of God is often to doubters, the type of individuals He uses, people who feel insignificant, weak, unsure of themselves, incapable. God’s calling is not for superstars, or well accomplished despite the fact that He can use such. He perpetually calls us to greater task than ourselves which will drive us to wholly rely on Him or we shall fail.
2Chr 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
Fulfilling God’s call is only possible by His enabling power. It is a foolish thing to lean on a broken reed, when we have the rock of ages to rely upon. Jeremiah had to lean on God to place His word in his mouth to speak. And now that he had confessed his weakness, he could turn and testify of God’s strength.
You may by stubbornness persist in looking at your own small arm, or you may turn to the almightiness of God, and draw His power from above in your weakness.
