Jer 1:11-12, 11 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see an almond branch.” 12 Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I and watching over my word to perform it”
God instructed Moses to gather rods/staffs from leaders of the 12 tribes, Num 17:5 and put them in the tent of testimony. The next day, “…the staff of Aaron … SPROUTED and PUT FORTH BUD and PRODUCED BLOSSOMS, and IT BORE RIPE ALMONDS”, Num 17:8. Almond trees are called “the wakeful trees” because they wake from the sleep of winter earlier than the other trees, flowering in January, and bearing fruit in March. Aaron and Jeremiah by the grace of God were quick and fruitful to put forth, not the signs only and promise of spiritual gifts and energies, but the ripened fruits as well defying stages of trees natural growth. God says, “I am watching over my word to perform it.”
