Mar 5:42 And immediately the girl got up and began walking (for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement. Luke 8:55 …And he directed that something should be given her to eat.
Mark frequently used the word “immediately“, snap shots of Christ’s immediate miracles. At the command of His voice, the girl got up immediately and began walking. And those present were also immediately overcome with amazement. This was too good to be true.
Out of the 3 gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke, only Luke adds this line, ” …And he directed that something should be given her to eat“, Luke 8:55. The purpose for the followed action was to give proof of reality of what He had done and to strengthen the life He rescued from death.
Believers are not spectators in the Lord’s doing but co-laborers with Him. With Lazarus He told them to remove the stone from the grave, and after bringing him back to life, He commanded them to loose him from the grave clothes. Ezekiel was instrumental in speaking to the dry bones. 2Co 4:7 “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” Nothing is impossible for a man who doesn’t have do it himself.
