John 2:9-10, 9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine… the master called the bridegroom. “10 And he said to him, “every man at the beginning sets out the good wine…”,(NKJV) You have saved the best until now!”(NIV)
The first miracle Jesus as God/Man performed was at a wedding He was invited to, Though present as a guest, when a need arose, He met it by turning ordinary water into fine wine. The MC with no knowledge of how this came about had this to say to the groom,, “every man sets the good wine at the beginning”, the difference, Jesus was not every man.
This demonstrates how Christ’s works commend themselves even to those who have no knowledge of His providence. To the groom, the MC continued, “…You have saved the best until now!”(NIV). It was not the groom but Jesus that saved the new and the best for last, praise God. Adam was God’s created son, Jesus the last Adam was God’s only begotten Son. God saved the best until now. Jesus speaking these words… “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second” (Heb 10:9 NKJV). With God, what you call good and/or made by man may have to run out first that He may bring about His very best. Jesus is your very best.
