Gen 1:1 In the beginning, God…
The Bible opens up with 3 words pointing to a Being called God. The proof of His existence is not displayed in this opening and here is why, Rom 1:19-20 “19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” In short we are born with some capacity to acknowledge creation having a creator.
Throughout the Bible we study that God is the CAUSER of the beginning, the CREATOR, SUSTAINER, and JUDGE of all things. We observe Him as the Being of beings, eternal and immutable. He is but One in the perfection of nature and essence, His eternity, omnipotence, omnipresence, infinity, goodness, and self-sufficiency.
We observe His relations to His creatures, as their King, ruler, governor, and lawgiver. He reigns supremely over all and is in charge of the fate of mankind. We are to learn from this opening verse that ” …The LORD our God, the LORD is one.” (Deu 6:4). Let us worship Him for who He is.
