1Chr 22:1-5, vs. 5 Now David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it.
God told David that his son Solomon was to build a house for Him. David did not have long to live to see his son grow up to become a man of God, he therefore prepared 4 crucial areas to benefit his son.
1. PHYSICAL PREPARATION: He made abundant material preparations before his death(vs. 2-4). David’s walk with the Lord gave him wisdom of what the Lord required and therefore could prep it for his son. Parents have the obligation to prepare both present and future, spiritually and materially for the well-being of their children with God in mind for His glory.
David’s example at the close of his life suggests to all of us the duty of preparing, so far as we may, for the building up of the house of God in the world after we ourselves have gone. David had learned that God’s work must be done God’s way. Pro 13:22 “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children”
