Gen 25:21 And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren. And the Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
Pro 18:22 reads “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord”. The last clause is significant and here is why. Your wife and her presence is a good thing, her presence ought to make you better. God has placed her in your life as a sanctifying tool. Her presence for one should drive you to pray even more.
A husband that prays, especially for his wife has learned the secret of taking care of her (loving, providing, protecting etc) by seeking the help of another greater than himself, God. That is where and how he obtains the favor from the Lord, entrusting his care to His hands. Isaac prayed for his wife and both were favored with a child. The presence of his wife drove him to pray in ways he could not without her.
