Deu 1:6 The LORD our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain”
Horeb and Sinai were but one and the same mountain. Sinai/Horeb dwelling was temporal, Israel made it a permanent dwelling. They became too attached to this mountain that they camped around it for many years never advancing to the promised land, their actual destination. God had to speak to get their attention in order to relocate them.
How often do we discover that our spiritual life is stagnant? We need a word from the Lord to serve as a challenge to move. We are not bound to die by the mountain when God has more for us. We ought to turn to God who makes us more than conquerors by His word. vs. “7 Turn and take your (our) journey, and go to the mountains of…” holiness because ”…Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1Cor 2:9). We must have a holy discontentment especially in our spiritual lives and move. By what mountain have you dwelt for so long? be encouraged, you are not bound to die there. God has a word for you, turn and take your journey to the direction of His leading.
