Job 42:5 I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You
All his life, Job had learned to trust the Lord, he prayed and lived for Him. He led his family in the things of God, but in the storm Job saw God. He questioned God and God in response had a series of questions of His own for Him that would make him humble. He saw God in a whole new dimension.
Through those questions to Job, Job had a new awareness of the wisdom of God’s hidden plans, a new sense of awe of His greatness and showed him his limitations even in the midst of the storm. In the midst of the storm, He appeared unto Job. At last Job saw and understood God whom he had seen through the eyes of faith. James revisits the trials of Job “…You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful” (Jam 5:11). No one who has seen the Lord in the storm can remain the same; it either breaks you or makes you.
