Rom 8:38-39, 38 For I am persuaded (convinced) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come”. 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God WHICH IS IN CHRIST Jesus our Lord
Paul to brethren in Philippi demonstrates how convinced he was of God’s loves for him. Phi 4:11-13 “13 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: …13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Christ’s love was Paul’s strength. The cross provided comfort and assurance that he was loved and will overcome despite all his trials. We now know why they preached Christ crucified, the best description and demonstration of God’s love (Rom 5:8).
With the final words in this wonderful chapter, with which the argument properly closes, leave us who are “justified by faith” in the arms of everlasting Love, whence no hostile power or conceivable event can ever tear us from His loving arms. “Behold what manner of love is this?” And “what manner of persons ought we to be,” who are “blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ?” Nothing can separate us from the love of God sealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
