Mat 14:29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “LORD, SAVE ME”
The tendency to sink is often driven by lost focus. The strongest faith and courage battle fear. Nothing but perfect love casts out fear. Jesus did not calm the storm before Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water. The impossible happened in the midst of the storm.
As Peter lost focus and began to sink, he resolved to call on Jesus, the Savior rather than his friends to help him. God wants to hear you call Hi over your problems. We must lay a foundation and others be supporting cast (walls).
If you wait until conditions are favorable before you can move, you will never move. Also Jesus did not change Peter’s surrounding in order to fit in, He changed Peter to fit in a surrounding waging war with them. Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith would not fail but then He also told him to pray that he enters not into temptation. Lord, save me should be everyone’s cry.
