1Tim 3:14-16, 15… I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth
As I think of qualifications of a minister and the model of biblically sound church, I turn to Paul’s epistle to Timothy for depth and clarity. It’s written to Timothy facing numerous challenges as a young pastor. Paul instructs him of the kind of people to place in offices to serve/minister in the Church with him.
In progressing with the message in the letter, he further cautioned him against the influence of false teachers, who by subtle ways corrupted the purity and the simplicity of the gospel. He pressed upon him to be constant in regard to the greatest diligence, faithfulness, and zeal in handling God’s word, and surround himself with like minded. For our admonition, in order to grow, mature, serve well, it is vital who you link arms with for how will two walk unless they be agreed. The foundation is key.
