Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, …
To limit the power of God is to pay more attention to Satan forces at work against you more than the power of God. If you focus prayer on casting out generational curses, demonic forces in times of sickness, accidents, incidents, then I ask, when God saved you, what did He save you from if Satan is still in control of your life? What is the point of “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2Cor 5:17)?
Paul declares in Rom 1:16 that the gospel is the power of God for salvation. Salvation from what? From the world, the flesh and the devil. In the bible, those possessed by Satan and cast out were not believers, only potential converts under Satan’s dominion. Before salvation we were under another ruler, at the point of salvation (the power of God), we come under a new government (ownership).Believers may be oppressed by Satan and his agents but not owned or controlled by him. God is in control of believers’ lives because of His power that works within us (Eph 3:20).
