Col 1:27 … Christ in you, the hope of glory
World Health Organization (W.H.O) estimates that over a million people commit suicide each year, and an estimated 10 to 20MM non-fatal suicide attempts occur every year worldwide especially among teenagers and adults under 35. Most of these suicide cases can be traced to lack of hope, that is the expectation of good beyond the current circumstances.
In light of these startling statistics, I am assured that hope keeps a man alive and hope does not disappoint (Rom 5:5). As long as hope remains through disappointments, pain and suffering, hope propels us to hold on Christ and keep fighting. Hope isn’t about uncertainty, it’s a certainty not yet realized. Faith in Christ is the foundation hope rests upon. Psa 16:9 “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh shall rest in hope.” The hopeful are at rest. Christ in you is the hope of glory, of splendor, of magnificence, of wonder, of brilliance, and of much more.
