2Ki 7:5-7, 5…But when they came to the edge of the camp of the Syrians, behold, there was no one there. 6 For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians hear…the sound of a great army, 7 they fled away in the twilight and abandoned their tents…and fled for their lives. (ESV)
In His word it is made clear of how God uses the weak things to put to shame the mighty (1Co 1:27). God delights in displaying His power in the weak and despised for there in is His work recognized clearly for His glory.
The Lord used his similar ways to magnify the feet of 4 weak leprous sick men to sound like a mighty army on the move. Here was not a sword drawn against the Syrian army, not a drop of blood shed but victory realized. Picture this, an object observed through a magnifying glass appears bigger than it’s actual size (it’s size does not change). Similar to the 4 lepers, their condition did not change, God caused the Syrians to hear them coming as an army, He magnified the sound of their feet. Jos 3:7 ”The LORD said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt (magnify) you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.” This is the Lord’s doing, and it’s marvelous before our eyes (Psa 118:23)

Thank you, brother Evans. A good word about our mighty God.
