1Sa 1:15 But Hannah answered, “No, my lord, I am a woman troubled in spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have been pouring out my soul before the LORD.”
Those with excellent spirit don’t let people’s miss judgement or accusations derail them from the right path. If you were observed as a drunk and advised to put the wine away, how many would have attacked back, screamed and threw insults? Not with Hannah, her gentle spirit led her to respectfully honor, respond, correct and explain her dilemma to the priest.
Pro 15:33 “The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.” The fear of God and humility are side by side. The fear of God is the way to wisdom, humility is the way to honor (exaltation). Christ’s humility was before His exaltation; men are first humbled and laid low in their own eyes, and then they are raised out of their low estate and are set on high.
