Rom 12:13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
The gifts of grace warms believers’ hearts to contribute/distribute to the needs of the saints. Men in want are to be relieved, even our very enemies, and particularly those of our own flesh and blood, nearly related to us (children, aged parents, brothers, sisters, etc) Gal 6:10 “So then., as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.“
This is love in action, love working. Internal faith displayed in works. As believers are given a measure of faith by the same grace, they become the means by which the Lord unifies the church and displays to the world our unity in diversity, Joh 13:35 “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
In the same verse Paul urges believers to “… seek to show hospitality”. “Seek” is to attempt to go out of your way to touch those outside your circle (family, church, friends etc), such us the persecuted, oppressed, missionaries. To first give oneself to the Lord is to draw near to the One who warms the heart to care.
