Eph 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us
To seek power only to do ministry in church is to minimize its purpose. Power (oil, anointing) to love, live and grow in marriages is important, without which defeats are imminent. In the OT, a priest could not perform his duties without the oil, husbands as priests are unable to lead without power (priestly oil).
The verse in Eph 20 has its first clause conditioned by the last clause, vs “20…according to the POWER that works within us” I can attempt to explain it this way, God is able to do more in believers because of His power already present in them. The last clause is the means by which the first clause is possible. Act 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good …for God was with him.” Jesus did good by power, we need the same to do good (love, forgive, encourage etc) to all especially to our spouses for God is with us.
