Acts 9:11 So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying.”
Prayers in our time often takes a backseat, an after thought, given less time. Paul as a new believer made prayer priority, God highlighted or emphasized it here, that’s how important it is. That is, before going into preaching or serving, he began to develop a prayer life. The best thing you can do for new believers is to encourage them to first learn how to pray before serving. Their serving without continuous vertical relations and dependence upon God’s power in prayer will hinder their growth and victories.
All believers should make prayers the bedrock of their beings. In prayer we live, move and have our being, it connects us to the throne of grace. It was C.Spurgeon who said, he would rather teach one man to pray than ten men to preach. That is how important prayer is, it is the nucleus that holds all things together. If God emphasized it, it is important.
