Jer 1:5 … I appointed you a prophet to the nations.
There are four stages in the metamorphosis of butterflies and moths: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The whole cycle process is about transformation and growth. I consider the same for humans 4 stages from baby to teenager to young adult to adult. The duty of the parents is not to spoil or hinder but to prepare their children for every stage especially for the final stage where they too will assume such responsibilities for their own. The primary resposibility of the parents is to disciple their children to grow, mature and discover the call of God for their lives and live it out.
Jeremiah was very young, he shrank from the responsibility of the great mission entrusted to him. He needed to be introduced to point #3. Calling, “…I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” God ordained him for public service. He created a minister who should be His mouthpiece, His representative, His ambassador in all departments of life. Peter the Apostle points out how this effectual calling comes about, “as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,” (2Pe 1:3). God that gives distinct purpose for each life equips such life to carry on His purposes. Therefore our one aim should be to discover and work out His plan for the glory of His name. The view of life becomes different when you know your purpose for living it.
