Psa 138:2 I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your loving kindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
The psalmist worships the Lord on 2 counts, “His loving kindness” and “His truth”. He notes how God magnifies His word, that is giving priority to His word above or over all His name. That thought is hard to grasp that He puts more emphasis on His word above His name. It’s His word that gives weight, credibility, substance, value, quality, worthiness, greatness to His name. His Word magnifies His name.
Where Christ is exalted, the truth takes center stage for His worship. It gives as a glimpse of Isaiah’s experience in Isa 6 who upon seeing the Lord as He revealed Himself showed him how unworthy he was before God. We cannot truly worship God we do not know otherwise we end up with a god in our making. The Lord God Almighty delights in His Word because it gives full counsel of who He is and His nature, and shows how sinful we are and have fallen short of His glory.

John 1:1,2. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:14. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Great truth
