Jos 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”
Growing in the Lord comes from seeking Him, feeding on His word and living Christ like. Hibernating animals feed, gather and store enough food to last them through winter months when they are incapable of leaving their dens, we call them animal instincts. Are not humans more valuable, knowledgeable and able than the animals?
Joshua as he took on leadership from Moses needed to learn this lesson early enough as his journey would consist of good and bad days. Believers ought to do the same, eat the word, while gathering and storing enough for the challenging and harsh seasons. When those seasons come, and they will, we will be able to pull verses we learned and stored in good times, and apply them in difficult times. Sometimes the word is placed in our lives to test our faith in winter season. It’s during those times that we should pull out what we stored to get us through any kind of challenge. A wise man knows how to prepare for now and later.
