Jam 5:16 …The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much
Praying effectively and fervently (passionately) has little to do with your ability, and has everything to do with your availability. A guitar is incapable of tuning itself and play its own tune unless it is placed in able, skillful hands to tune it in order to play sweet orderly music. Note that the making, the tuning and the playing is credited to able hands. The same with us, when we avail ourselves to pray, the Holy Spirit takes us, tunes us and plays His own tune of prayer how best He wants God gloried through His chosen vessels, “26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Rom 8:26-27).
If prayers rested on our ability, there will be little to no need to depend on the Holy Spirit. You avail yourself and He will display His ability through you. “For bodily exercise profits a little…” (1Tim 4:8), BUT “…The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (Jam 5:16).
